On self-Acceptance

The most painful state of being is losing hope, not to live, but to die. "For dying means that it is all over, but dying the death means to live to experience death; and if for a single instant this experience is possible, it is [equivalent] to experiencing it forever" (Kierkegaard, SUD).

The sickness unto death is the agony of trying to get rid of oneself, but as much as we try to change ourselves or run away from ourselves, life will find a way to nail us down to ourselves; you can never run; you can never hide. You will be stuck with yourself forever. After all, changing oneself is not as simple as changing one's name or clothing.

Sometimes it is hard to accept our past and ourselves. Perhaps you refuse to be the self that has to live now without a father or a beloved, but faith and self-acceptance will bring us back to life into eternity. So live a meaningful life, be truthful to yourself, and have faith in God. After all, there must be something that started the whole universe, a first mover.
